About the Doctor

Dr. Freeman graduated from Chiropractic school from the University of Western States in Oregon in the Fall of 2021. He chose UWS for their reputation of being evidence based, and turning out top-tier chiropractors. He pursued a career in  healthcare out of a passion for helping people, and decided specifically on chiropractic because he believes strongly in manual therapy. For many neuromusculoskeletal conditions today, the paradigm is to quickly jump to medicine or surgical intervention. While these methods are valid and sometimes appropriate, there is often no down-side to a trial of conservative care first. If manual therapy is successful, drug and/or surgical intervention can be avoided, and if it isn’t, those options are still there; that’s the major benefit to trying the least invasive interventions first.

Dr. Freeman believes in a well-rounded approach to chiropractic care. This means that he uses methods beyond chiropractic manipulation therapy (CMT) in order to help his patients find and maintain wellness as efficiently as possible. In addition to CMT, Dr. Freeman employs soft tissue manipulation, therapeutic exercise education, spinal decompression and lifestyle modification where appropriate to help his patients feel their best, and give them the tools to stay feeling better without feeling beholden to a lifetime treatment plan. Dr. Freeman grew up in Michigan and attended Michigan State University and Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate education in Biology. Halfway through his degree, he took a yearlong position as a research assistant studying hyenas in a large national game reserve in Kenya. After returning, Dr. Freeman became heavily involved in the outdoor programs at Kalamazoo College, first as a participant, and later as a leader. There he found a love for rock climbing, solidified his passion for the outdoors, and met his future wife, Rosie.

With undergraduate school behind them, they moved to Portland, Oregon, where Dr. Freeman attended chiropractic school, and Rosie became a massage therapist. The Pacific Northwest remained their home for six years. There they both gained a wealth of experience in their chosen fields and enjoyed the vast natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest until the pull of family brought them back east.

The two are very excited to call Ithaca their new home, and eager to share their passion for body work and wellness with their beautiful new community.
