Massage Therapy · Ithaca, NY

Therapeutic massage that works with your body, not against it. Rosie Freeman brings a caring, attentive touch to every session, focused on what your body actually needs, whether that's relief from chronic tension, recovery from injury, or simply space to reset.

The approach

Intentional, unhurried, and tailored to you.

Rosie's sessions aren't one size fits all. She takes time to understand what's going on with your body before she begins, and adapts her work throughout the session based on what she finds. The goal isn't just relaxation. It's lasting relief and a body that feels genuinely better when you leave.

What Rosie offers

Services

Swedish massage

The foundation of Rosie's practice. Swedish massage uses flowing, full-body strokes to release tension, improve circulation, and calm the nervous system. A great starting point for new clients, and a reliable reset for anyone who knows what they need.

Therapeutic/injury recovery

For bodies dealing with something specific, an old injury, a recurring problem, restricted movement. Rosie approaches each session as a puzzle, working methodically to find what's contributing to the issue and addressing it directly. This is her preferred focus.

Relaxation massage

Lighter pressure, no agenda, no problem-solving. Just an hour of genuine rest for your body and mind. Rosie incorporates hot towels throughout to deepen the experience, warm, unhurried, and restorative.

Trigger point therapy

Focused work on specific points of tension that refer pain to other areas of the body. If you've ever had a knot in your shoulder that gives you a headache, this is the work that addresses it at the source.

Myofascial release

Slow, sustained pressure on the connective tissue that surrounds your muscles. Often includes cupping to lift and decompress tissue rather than compress it, effective for chronic tightness that deeper pressure alone doesn't reach.

Deep tissue massage

Firm, intentional pressure that reaches the deeper layers of muscle. This is the right choice if you want work that's strong enough to feel it the next day, in a good way. Not about force, but about precision and patience.

Pregnancy massage

Safe, supported massage for every stage of pregnancy. Rosie uses full-body pregnancy bolsters that allow you to lie comfortably face-down, a relief many expectant clients haven't experienced in months.

See below for the type of bolster we have.

Manual lymphatic drainage (MLD)

A gentle, specialized technique that supports the lymphatic system by encouraging fluid movement toward functioning lymph nodes. Commonly used after surgery or cancer treatment to reduce swelling and support recovery.

Clothed massage & assisted stretching

For clients who prefer to stay fully dressed, Rosie draws from Thai and Shiatsu traditions, assisted stretching and pressure work that requires no oil or lotion. A good fit if you're new to massage or simply prefer a different kind of session.

30 minutes: $55

60 minutes: $100

90 minutes: $145
